Pricing Options

Great Expectations will be published annually. Version 1 (V.1) is already a big guide and updates to it will make it bigger over time. Therefore, you can buy the guide as a whole document or in parts, without missing out on essential information that will help you to understand the recruitment industry and to seek work through recruiters or direct to hirers more effectively to save you time and money.

This page lists prices the full and part document types available to flexible workers, based on a fixed copy purchase or update subscription. Please read all of this information carefully. (Recruiters, hirers and other suppliers should not order V.1 directly from this website, but contact us directly on info@flexibleworkingexpert.com).

The update subscription enables you to receive regular supplementary update sheets, sent quarterly over a 12 month period, to supplement the information contained in your guide. As a V.1 subscriber you can purchase, renew or cease your update subscription in time for V.2, which will be published in October 2010.

Below is a table that sets out the pricing options available to flexible workers.

Please click on the next tab to see a detailed explanation of each of these table headings, starting with the document type that is most suitable for you.

Full document (Parts I,II & III) is the guide most suitable for umbrella service users and owner managers that don't understand recruitment practice at all, or sufficiently well enough, or feel they aren't managing their work seeking efforts successfully. It's also suitable for PAYE registered temporary workers who are thinking of work seeking in the near future as an owner manager or umbrella service user.

Part document (Parts I & III) is the guide most suitable for white collar PAYE registered temporary workers that seek instant assigments (no hirer interviews) or competitive placements (do involve hirer interviews).

Part document (Parts II & III) is the guide most suitable for more experienced and successful owner managers and umbrella service users. It's also ideal for all interim management specialists, whether successful or not, who want a clear understanding of the IR35 rules and wish to learn how best to negotiate self employed working practices.

Part document (Part II) is the guide most suitable for current, ex and potential owner managers who want clearer guidance on the IR35 rules and commentary on why IR35 is badly understood and tackled inappropriately.

This column represents one viewer per unit price. To make this concept workable, our exchange and refund policy discourages purchasers from downloading the guide onto hirer equipment. So always read the guide on your own or family owned computer.

Flexible workers have a 'work seekers' user agreement, which means that the information contained in Great Expectations may only be used for your own personal work seeking efforts through recruiters or direct to hirers. It may not be utilised or adapted for any other purpose - commercial or otherwise. Other usage agreements will be available to suppliers, recruiters and hirers, by arrangement.

Fixed copy purchasers get a one-off copy of V.1. This option is ideal for flexible workers who believe they won't be flexible working by October 2010, in time for the publication of V.2.

To see how a V.1 fixed copy purchase works in practice and on an on-going basis, see the examples below.

Examples

  1. You purchase a one-off copy of any document type on or after V.1's publication date, and decide to switch to an update subscription of the same document type by 1st September 2010, well in time for the publication of V.2.

    • You will need to purchase V.2 at full price because you've already got unlimited viewing access on V.1, unlike update subscribers. This is no different to purchasing a new edition of the same book, except that you will also receive quarterly update sheets in Jan, Apr, Jul and Oct 2011. Something you wouldn't get from buying a book.

  2. You either purchase a one-off copy (or update subscription) for any V.1 document type, on or after its publication date, but decide to buy a different document type, as the same one off copy purchaser (or the same update subscriber).

    • You will need to purchase V.2 of your selected document type at full price, which is the equivalent of buying a different book.

Update subscribers get V.1 and quarterly update sheets throughout the year that will contain new information that complements V.1. This option is ideal for flexible workers who intend to continue flexible working beyond October 2010. Quarterly update sheets are likely to be incorporated into V.2 of Great Expectations if it's still relevant.

Quarterly update sheets will be produced in a standard format and sent out in Jan, Apr, Jul and Oct 2010. For full document purchasers: some or all updates may contain all or some content that's irrelevant to your category of flexible worker. For part-document purchasers: some or all updates may contain all or some content that refers to a part of the document you haven't purchased.

To see how the update subscription process works now, and on an on-going basis, read the examples below.

Examples

  1. You are a V.1 update subscriber who renews their update subscription for the same document type for £3.00 + VAT by 1st September 2010, in time for the publication of V.2.

    • You get a copy of V.2, which may incorporate some of the information you'd already received in the update sheets, plus you will receive on-going quarterly update sheets for Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct 2011.

  2. You are a V.1 update subscriber who decides not to renew their update subscription by 1st Sept 2010. Instead, you just want to continue reading V.1, as before.

    • Update subscribers initially receive V.1 with viewing access that expires on 30th September 2010, shortly before V.2 is published. You will also receive quarterly update sheets from Jan 2010 — Oct 2010. When V.2 is published, you receive another copy of V.1, this time with unlimited viewing access and, of course, you can continue to read your update sheets, as before. Should you decide to opt for an update subscription later on, you will have to buy the guide at the full purchase price, even if it's the same document type.
